He was a son of nature and the earth. He loved the earth with both a farmer's affection and a scientist's insight. Therefore, he dedicated his entire life to the science of the earth. He overcame the hardships on this path with perseverance. Academician Habib Abdullaev was born into a family of Uzbek farmers in the scenic village of Aravon, located at the foothills of the Alay Mountains. Perhaps the wonderful nature around the village and the discovery of one of the large mines near his home sparked an interest in geological science in Habib's heart. This interest led him to the mining-geology faculty of the Central Asian Industrial Institute (now the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute), summoned him to the mountains, rocks, deserts, and wilderness of Central Asia, and urged him to "make speak" the mineral wealth that had been hidden underground for millions of years.

While conducting major research himself, he also sought to spark an interest in geology in the younger generation and school students. The great success achieved in geological science and practice not only in our republic but in all of Central Asia is intrinsically linked to Habib Muhamedovich's scientific work. On his initiative, four research institutes for various fields of geology were established on the basis of the Geology Institute of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, which now bears his name. Habib Muhamedovich also showed zeal in the establishment of the Institute of Nuclear Physics, a large scientific center considered the pride of our republic. During the years of the Great Patriotic War, with the direct participation of Habib Muhamedovich, the Bekabad metallurgical plant, the firstborn of Uzbekistan's ferrous metallurgy, was built. Abdullaev made a significant contribution to the rapid development of our country's mineral raw material base, the search for mineral deposits, and putting them into operation quickly. He created his own theory about the historical formation of underground wealth and what kind of mineral wealth might lie in which layers. Relying on this theory, Soviet and foreign geologists discovered many new deposits.

A scientist with a wide scope, Habib Muhamedovich was a devotee who was not afraid of any difficulties on the path of science. Thanks to this devotion, he became known not only in the union but also in the world. It is not a coincidence that he was elected a member of the French Geological Society and the British Royal Mineralogical Society. Habib Muhamedovich continued his research in the field of geology both when he worked in party and state affairs and when he led the headquarters of the republic's science - the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences. He was the first in the republic to be awarded the Lenin Prize for his scientific work in the field of geology.

Although Habib Abdullaev was busy with state and public affairs, he did not fail to talk with the students who came to him, gave advice, and found time to continue scientific research. Abdullaev wrote over 130 scientific works. He raised the honor of Uzbekistan with his immortal works and ideas. The words Habib Abdullaev said to his children seem to be spoken to all the children in our republic at the same time:

"My children, always live in harmony, never spare anything from each other, support and back each other in any situation... I started working when I was twelve years old. Be hardworking, my dear children. I dedicated my entire life to our people and our science. You, too, regardless of where and in what position you work, dedicate your life and work to the people, serve honestly, and grow up to be worthy children of our beloved Uzbekistan."
